Too many resources but difficult to find

The educational arm of Shakespeare's Globe had a vast resource of information aimed at teachers and students of all ages which needed to be accessed efficently through an appealing interface. As the main Globe Theatre website, redesing and rebuild was urgent. The last interface dated from 2001 and it was obvious opportunities were missed on a daily basis.

Solution

As the technical lead at Front of Mind I provided:

• Semantic XHTML templates and CSS

• Content management system
• Flash image galleries
• Website traffic analytics
• CMS training to Globe Theatre marketing department

Result

The new website was designed to maintain the look and consistency of the main Globe Theatre website whilst projecting its own identity; layout and structure were more specifically geared toward the clear presentation of educational resources. Newly included functionality consisted of blogs, audio and video support, and registered-user resources including a forum.
