This is Springmile, the digital home of Diego Lago, a web developer who specialises in designing and building websites with web standards. He spends his days working in a successful web consultancy agency in London, UK and uses this site to feature some of his works and as a test environment for all things web.

With a few long years of professional experience in the world of the interweb I bring my expertise in all aspects of design, development, and implementation of user interfaces and, as an add-on, I´m well versed in building flexible and scalable web applications that are content managed and user friendly.

Since I´ve first got involved in doing web stuff it became natural and fun for me to acquire multiple skills: user experience, interface design, graphic design, and coding with web standards and accessibility in mind. I think UI design isn´t divorced from its look and feel; in the modern web, look and feel is directly related to graphic design. I simply know how to make applications look amazingly gorgeous, lightweight, fast, portable, and interactive.

I think user interface design is as much about programming as the design itself. Web UI design is no longer about building static page interfaces; it´s about interactive application design. It should be done by people who know the latest web UI technology, and how to use it — coding in JavaScript, CSS and PHP.

As a way to document web related stuff and make some order I try hard to keep a blog. Nothing fancy, just a collection of entries about design, web technologies, project management, etc.
